IVORI MASTER FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME 2024

The IVORI Master Fellowship Programme offered by The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is aimed at female university graduates from Latin America (Spanishspeaking countries and Brazil) to support their enrolment in the URV/ICIQ Masters program and to follow a research project in the area of chemistry or closely related field that ultimately leads to the completion of a Masters Degree.

The IVORI Master Programme will be administered in English.

These grants are directed to highly qualified and talented female graduate students with a passion for chemistry research or closely related areas. The students will have the opportunity to join one of ICIQs research groups and will follow an individual master research project under the direction of a group leader.

Selected female students will be awarded a grant in order to complete their Masters research project at the ICIQ in one academic year.

I. Application Process

The entire application process will be completed online. The call opening is on March 25^th and it closes on May 26^th 2024. Applicants must submit their application through ICIQs Career Portal. Applications sent by email will not be accepted.

After completing the personal data fields applicants must attach in a PDF file the following documents:

1. Scanned copy of the BSc diploma and academic record. The academic record must include the average/final grade the range of the grades used in the corresponding country and the minimum grade to pass satisfactorily.
2. Curriculum Vitae specifying the completed degree and other relevant professional experience.
3. Applicants must be proficient in written and oral communication in English. Finalist candidates will be interviewed to assess their English competency.

Please note that documents sent as hard copies will not be processed. For academic records not issued in Catalan Spanish or English a certified translation from other languages must be provided.

Only one application per person will be considered. In case of multiple applications only the first application received will be considered.

Once the application has been successfully completed an acknowledgement email will be automatically sent. Candidates must ensure that all information is included before the deadline. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

II. Eligibility and evaluation criteria

The programme is open to female graduate students of any nationality from Latin America (Spanishspeaking countries and Brazil) that fulfil the following eligibility criteria:

1. Hold a University Degree in Chemistry Physics Biochemistry Chemical Engineering or closely related disciplines that must be completed by the time of enrolment in the Masters programme.

When in doubt regarding the eligibility criteria applicants should contact the ICIQ People Team at prior the submission of an application.

Candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria will be evaluated according to the following evaluation criteria:

1. Curriculum vitae.
2. Academic record.
3. Two recommendation letters.
4. Personal interview for shortlisted candidates.

III. Evaluation and Selection Process

The evaluation and selection of the candidates will be performed by the Master project supervisor and supported by the People team following this procedure:

1. Submitted applications will be checked for eligibility and those not fulfilling all the criteria will be rejected. It will not be possible to modify the application or to add missing documentation after the call is closed (May 26^th).
2. The selection will be meritbased according to the evaluation criteria described in Section II.
3. At the late stages of the selection process shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview.
4. The call deadline will be May 26^th. The name of the awardees will be published on ICIQs website. All applicants will be notified of the selection outcome by mid June 2024.

The ICIQ will only consider female applicants but will not discriminate on the basis of age ethnic or social origin religious beliefs sexual orientation or disability.

The name of the awardees will be posted in the Grants Awarded page in ICIQs website.

IV. Grant Conditions

1. Awardees will receive a scholarship of 14.400 /year to help with their living expenses during the academic year.
2. The IVORI Master programme enrolment costs will be covered by ICIQ.
3. On acceptance of the grants awardees must submit a copy of the enrolment document to a Master Programme.
4. The beneficiary will sign a scholarship acceptance with ICIQ.

V. Incompatibilities

The Scholarship is incompatible with any other grant with the same purpose.
