IT Technician

A diamond mining company with more than 50 years of experience in producing gemquality diamonds for the local and international market is seeking an IT technician to join the team. The IT Technician provides technical support to a companys computer systems network and users. They diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software problems install and configure equipment and ensure the smooth operation of the IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure computer hardware and peripherals (monitors keyboards printers etc.)
• Troubleshoot and resolve computer software and hardware issues
• Perform routine maintenance on computer systems and networks
• Install and configure software programs
• Set up and maintain user accounts and permissions
• Respond to user inquiries and requests for technical assistance
• Backup and recover data
• Secure and maintain the integrity of the companys network
• Document IT procedures and solutions
• Stay uptodate on the latest technology trends

Requirements:

Entry level to midlevel PLC knowledge and some experience

IT skills including but not limited to:

• Office 365 knowledge and experience
• Windows Server knowledge and experience
• Desktop support knowledge and experience
• Microsoft Azure knowledge and experience
• Firewalling experience
• IT Security knowledge
• Ability to learn and work unsupervised.
• Strong work ethos
