Tasks
Network Management:
- Configure and maintain network infrastructure.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
- Implement and manage firewalls and security measures.
Server Administration:
- Install configure and maintain servers.
- Monitor server performance and ensure high availability.
- Manage user accounts and permissions.
Hardware and Software Management:
- Install upgrade and maintain hardware components.
- Install configure and update software applications.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
Security and Compliance:
- Implement security measures to protect against cyber threats.
- Regularly update and patch systems to address vulnerabilities.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
Backup and Disaster Recovery:
- Implement and manage backup solutions.
- Develop and test disaster recovery plans.
User Support:
- Provide technical support to endusers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues.
- Train users on IT systems and applications.
Email and Communication Systems:
- Manage email servers and communication tools.
- Ensure the security and integrity of email systems.
Monitoring and Reporting:
- Implement monitoring solutions for system performance.
- Generate reports on IT metrics and key performance indicators.
Documentation:
- Maintain documentation for IT infrastructure and configurations.
- Keep records of software licenses and hardware inventory.
Collaboration with Other Departments:
- Collaborate with other departments to understand their IT needs.
- Provide IT solutions to enhance overall organizational efficiency.
Budgeting and Procurement:
- Assist in IT budget planning.
- Procure hardware and software based on organizational needs.
Stay Informed:
- Stay updated on the latest technology trends and advancements.
- Attend relevant training and professional development opportunities.
Requirements
Education and training:
- Technical qualification (University technical college or similar) with relevant engineering discipline preferably in a field that offers an opportunity to gain a wellrounded background that can demonstrate experience in customer service/ IT helpdesk
- Additional trainings or classes in software engineering are desired
Technical requirements:
- You have advanced Linux system administration experience (Ubuntu)
- Experience with NGINX
- Experience with modern monitoring alerting and logging technologies (Prometheus ELK Grafana Splunk pagerduty cloudwatch)
- Expertise with CI/CD processes and tools (Jenkins etc.)
- Knowledge in version control systems (GIT)
- You have good knowledge in Docker Shell scripting
