Job Title: Inventory Supervisor
Job Summary: The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for effectively managing and controlling the
company's inventory to ensure accurate stock levels, minimize carrying costs, and meet customer
demand. This role involves supervising a team of inventory clerks or associates and implementing
inventory management best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Inventory Management:
Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing inventory items.
Monitor inventory levels and reorder points to ensure stock availability.
Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile with database records.
Identify slow-moving or obsolete items and recommend appropriate actions.
2. Supervision and Team Leadership:
Recruit, train, and supervise inventory clerks or associates.
Assign tasks and responsibilities to the inventory team.
Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring efficient workflow.
3. Process Improvement:
Develop and implement inventory control policies and procedures.
Streamline inventory processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Identify areas for cost savings and inventory optimization.
4. Reporting and Analysis:
Generate reports on inventory levels, stock movement, and variances.
Analyze inventory data to make informed decisions and adjustments.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate inventory performance.
5. Vendor Management:
Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and resolve supply issues.
Negotiate favorable terms with suppliers to optimize procurement costs.
6. Safety and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
Implement measures to prevent inventory shrinkage and theft.
Maintain a clean and organized inventory storage area.
7. Communication:
Collaborate with other departments, such as purchasing, sales, and logistics, to align
inventory activities with overall business objectives.
Communicate inventory needs and updates to relevant stakeholders.
