Odne (formerly Lumendo) is a Medtech startup and a spinoff from ETH Zrich and EPFL Lausanne. Our goal is to improve the efficiency and success rate of dental root canal treatments with a disruptive cleaning technology and a novel lightactivated root canal filling material thus helping people to keep their natural teeth longer. We have a team of 8 motivated scientists and engineers and recently closed our seed financing round.

Project description

Rootcanal treatments are among the most difficult procedures in dentistry. This often leads to a failure of the treatment and a reinfection of the tooth. Odne has developed a novel activated easytouse root canal filling material and recently received FDA clearance for the product.

You will be responsible for testing and optimizing the product formulation for future versions. This includes the design and execution of several material performance and safety tests. Furthermore you will assist the team in setting up developing a suitable packaging and conduct preclinical as well as clinical testing of the product. This will give you the chance to interact with researchers clinicians and regulatory experts relevant to development of a medical device.

Tasks

  • Photopolymerization tests using spectroscopic methods (PhotoFTIR photoNMR).
  • Material stability and shelf life tests by gravimetric and spectroscopic analysis.
  • Bacterial and enzymatic degradation as well as bacterial migration studies.
  • Identify suitable production partners. Identify develop and test suitable packaging options.

Requirements

  • At least a bachelor degree in science or engineering with laboratory experience. Good understanding of chemistry and/ or biology is a plus.
  • Interested in biomaterials and medical devices.
  • Highly motivated and responsible; outgoing and handson personality.
  • Independent and wellorganized working style.
