Department Specific Details: Nurse to pt ratios are 4:1 for most SDICU patients3:1 if pt is on titrating gtts Q2 hr Neuro checks CIWA greater than 15 stable trach home vent TAVR post sheath removal postop thoracotomy post op carotid endarterectomy art lines epidurals placed within 24 hours Hipec first 24 hours etc. Employee must have NIHSS BLS ACLS more than 2 years of nursing experience in critical care proficiently be able to discuss vasoactive cardiac medications and the mechanism of action interpret cardiac rhythm strips have experience with endotool etc. Notes: Our department takes pride in treating each patient as if they are own family member.
