Role: HR Associate (Immigration and Compliance)

Part Time 20 hours per week

Location: Giddings TX

Position Overview

We are seeking an HR Associate with specialized knowledge in immigration and compliance to join our Human Resources team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of immigration processes and regulations including but not limited to I9 compliance H1B visa applications PERM labor certifications and the maintenance of Public Access Files. This role requires a highly organized individual who can navigate complex regulatory requirements and provide support to our employees and HR team on immigrationrelated matters.

Key Responsibilities

I9 Compliance: Ensure proper completion and retention of I9 forms. Conduct regular audits to maintain compliance with USCIS requirements.

H1B Visa Process: Assist in the preparation and filing of H1B visa petitions including coordination with legal counsel gathering necessary documentation and ensuring timely submissions.

PERM Labor Certification: Support the PERM application process by assisting with recruitment efforts preparing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance with Department of Labor (DOL) requirements.

Public Access Files (PAFs): Maintain PAFs for H1B and other visa categories as required by law. Ensure files are updated organized and accessible for inspection.

Immigration Policy Updates: Stay informed on changes in immigration policies and procedures. Communicate relevant updates to the HR team and affected employees.

Employee Support: Provide guidance and support to employees on their visa and work authorization options. Assist with visa renewals adjustments of status and other immigrationrelated inquiries.

Training and Development: Conduct training sessions for HR staff and managers on immigration policies compliance requirements and best practices.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or related field.

At least 2 years of experience in a role with a focus on immigration and HR compliance.

Indepth knowledge of immigration processes including I9 H1B PERM and Public Access File requirements.

Familiarity with employment law and HR best practices.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.

Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
