HR Advisor

First Light Fusion are seeking a detailoriented and proactive HR Adviser to join our team. As an HR Adviser you will play a crucial role within the HR function ensuring smooth and efficient service to the business. Reporting to the Head of HR you will be responsible for providing first line advisory support to employees supporting recruitment activity as well as various HR administrative tasks contributing to the overall success and wellbeing of the organisation.

Responsibilities will include:

• Record update and maintain all HR documentation and employee records accurately and in line with data protection and confidentiality requirements.
• Provide first line HR support across all aspects of the employee lifecycle.
• Support HR initiatives and programs such as employee training performance reviews and employee engagement activities.
• Assist in recruitment activities and facilitate the onboarding of new employees.
• Collaborate with the Head of HR to ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures.
• Assist in the coordination of employee benefits and leave administration.
• Contribute to the maintenance of a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

Essential

• Proven experience in HR Adviser or a similar role.
• Familiarity with HR policies procedures and best practices.
• Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• A resilient and agile approach to working.
• Ability to organise and prioritise effectively.
• Passion for providing excellent service.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word Excel PowerPoint).

We are a lean focused and agile company researching energy generation by inertial confinement fusion. We spun out from the University of Oxford in June 2011 and are based near Oxford. First Light continues to work closely with the academic community both in the UK and internationally. The company is wellfunded by both institutional investors and private individuals.

Inertial confinement fusion for energy generation is a wellestablished research field and is being pursued in many laboratories worldwide perhaps most notably in the US at the National Ignition Facility. We are exploring a number of alternative research directions that harness the same fundamental physics with the prime focus being power generation. Our work todate has included theoretical analysis detailed numerical simulation and experimental validation. We have an increasingly clear vision of the pathway to a power plant.
