Job Purpose: As a Hotel Receptionist you will be the first point of contact for guests arriving at the hotel providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive guest experience. You will handle guest inquiries manage reservations assist with checkin/checkout procedures and provide information about hotel facilities and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival assist with luggage and provide information about hotel amenities local attractions and dining options. Handle guest inquiries and requests promptly and courteously to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Manage hotel reservations through the Hotel management system (HMS) including processing bookings cancellations and modifications. Ensure accuracy of guest information and payment details.
- Conduct efficient checkin and checkout procedures verifying guest identification processing payments and issuing room keys. Provide guests with relevant information such as WiFi passwords breakfast hours and hotel policies.
- Assign guest rooms based on availability room type preferences and special requests.
- Answer incoming calls and respond to emails and social media platform chats professionally and promptly. Assist guests with inquiries reservations and special requests via phone and email.
- Handle cash credit card transactions and other forms of payment accurately and securely. Balance cash register at the end of each shift and reconcile transactions with hotel records.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and staff by following hotel security procedures and protocols. Monitor lobby area for any suspicious activity and report concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Assist with administrative duties such as filing photocopying and data entry. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area and lobby.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role preferably as a hotel receptionist or front desk agent.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in computer systems and reservation software.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fastpaced environment.
- Knowledge of hotel operations services and local attractions.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts including evenings weekends and holidays.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in hospitality management is a plus.
