Job Description

Req ID : 1703972

This is a job posting for a Singapore-based role for CSP SG.

The Center for Sustainable Finance and Private Wealth (Singapore) Ltd. (CSP SG) is an independent non-profit focused on advancing social and environmental sustainable development through sustainable finance, with a unique focus on the private wealth space.

CSP SG is uniquely positioned because it is:

  • Supported by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS);
  • The first to offer an IBF-accredited course in Sustainable Investment Management; and
  • Amongst the first entities recognized by MAS and the Association of Banks in Singapore (ABS) as committed to developing IBF-accredited training programmes in the identified TSCs.

CSP SG is the first major global expansion of CSP at the University of Zurich, a highly successful academic research and teaching institution that has a distinctive edge in bringing together wealth owners, investment professionals, scientists, and policymakers to generate knowledge and to mobilize capital toward impact.

CSP Zurich developed out of the Impact Investing for the Next Generation programme launched in 2015 at the Initiative for Responsible Investment at Harvard Kennedy School.

The CSP platform is deeply integrated in the private wealth community globally, including via deep partnerships with key investor networks such as Toniic and The ImPact, and key groups at leading universities ranging from Harvard University to MIT and the University of Zurich.

The work of CSP addresses three barriers in steering capital to impact:

  • Knowledge
  • Capabilities
  • Support networks

These barriers are addressed through:

  • Research into the key questions of sustainable finance and private wealth
  • Trainings that translate actionable insights into practice
  • Engagement that amplifies the work of CSP and its partners

As the Head of Trainings Institutions, you will play a vital role in developing and disseminating the right knowledge to the right people, to trigger action and move capital towards impact. In particular, you will develop and implement strategies for rolling out CSP SG s portfolio of training programmes targeting financial intermediaries, wealth managers, and other institutional players in the private wealth space, actively growing this portfolio globally.

You will report directly to the Managing Director and be a member of the CSP SG Management Team. This is a highly interesting role for anyone deeply interested in contributing to the mainstreaming of sustainable and impact investing in a very dynamic growth environment, as you will be responsible for a uniquely powerful established suite of programmes within the CSP platform.

Tasks

Programme Delivery and Content Development (60 percent)

  • Develop, strategize, and execute CSP SG s portfolio of training programmes for wealth managers, as well as in-house programmes and services for banks and family offices; this includes both IBF-certified and custom courses.
  • Generate and present programme proposals for prospects and new programmes at existing institutions we are engaged with, as well as move them through the sales process.
  • Curate customized content for programme participants, drawing from the suite of available materials already developed by CSP Zurich, as well as supplementing with content adapted to the local context, specific to IBF courses.
  • Develop and submit select courses under the IBF-MAS Technical Skills and Competencies (TSCs) in Sustainable Finance for accreditation (IBF-STS).
  • Facilitate and lead/delivery training sessions as and when required. This includes Open Courses and select direct-to-wealth owner training modules.
  • Identify and recruit a deep bench of high-quality external trainers and facilitators to deliver training modules in person or virtually.
  • Plan and execute recruiting processes for the trainings, including tracking leads in the CRM system, coordinating the preparation of marketing materials, and communicating with training participants.
  • Ensure that all trainings and services are delivered on-time, with the highest quality, within scope and within budget.

Client Development (25 percent)

  • Be the primary point of client-facing contact for FIs and be responsible for full-service management of their accounts with CSP.
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders (L&D, Head of Sustainability, Head of Private Wealth, etc.) at institutions CSP SG works with, in order to gauge interest and need for programmes, and to ensure our programmes are put on the radar of key decision makers.
  • Work closely with the Managing Director to identify opportunities for greater expansion of trainings in the wealth management space.
  • Create and present our offerings to banks and family offices.
  • Form, expand, and develop partnerships with relevant external stakeholders and partners.

Management and Operations (15 percent)

  • Manage the budget for the Institutional programmes workstream, in close collaboration with the CSP SG management team.
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress of training activities and report to the Managing Director, as well as to the Advisory Board of CSP SG.
  • Financial administration and contract management as required.

Requirements

  • Singapore Citizen/Permanent Resident with a University degree in Economics, Finance, International Development, or related field.
  • WSQ Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA) / Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP) / Completion of Competency-Based Assessment Course / Experience in competency-based assessment.
  • A minimum of six to eight years of progressively responsible experience is required, particularly in the fields of project management and training.
  • Previous experience in designing, developing, or delivering training programmes. Experience doing so in the finance or sustainability context is a plus.
  • Possess entrepreneurial drive, with proven capability to develop and implement growth strategies as well as drive business development.
  • Ability and affinity for doing project management work.
  • Experience in leading/managing a team in a very dynamic and growing environment.
  • High level of self-leadership and self-organization in dealing with a highly dynamic environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with subject matter experts across different disciplines globally.
  • Experience in account management, sales processes, and client relationship building.
  • Excellent English communication skill (written and oral) is essential. Good communication skills in Mandarin is a plus.
  • High attention to detail and standards of work quality.
  • Trust-worthiness in handling confidential data.

Benefits

  • Be part of a very results-oriented, entrepreneurial, pragmatic, science-based, and fast-moving global team that is highly qualified and deeply intrinsically driven for the advancement of sustainable development.
  • Be embedded in a global community of impact-minded academics (e.g., Harvard, MIT, Oxford), practitioners (e.g. UBS, Credit Suisse), and investors (e.g. ultra high net worth individuals and their families).
  • Be part of an important movement and have a tangible impact on sustainable development.

To apply, please submit (1) your CV, (2) your cover letter where you outline why you are interested in this role, where you see your fit, and how you would proceed in the first 100 days in the role, as well as (3) an example of your work (article, business plan, pitch-deck, etc.).

Note: please upload both (2) and (3) under 'Cover Letter'.

Due to the large number of applications, only shortlisted applicants will be contacted for an interview.
