Our client, based in Munich, is a listed provider of medical services. The Group is represented in more than 30 countries with over 20,000 employees.

Tasks

  • Works in close alignment with Head of Group Procurement in defining procurement strategy
  • Leads assigned category cluster Indirect Spend on a global level and supports Category Managers in defining global category strategies incorporating local specifics
  • Ensures and drives collaboration with OU s and functional departments
  • Accountable for strategic & tactical procurement processes
  • Accountable for category related target fulfillment and increase of managed spend in close cooperation with Category Managers and OUs
  • Disciplinary Lead of multiple Category Managers and responsible for their professional development
  • Functional Lead of multiple Sourcing Manager (located in countries and group)
  • Defines qualitative and quantitative targets per category
  • Overall accountability for achieving targets within category cluster
  • laborates in collaboration with Category Managers counter measures in case of target deviations
  • Escalates to Head of Procurement
  • Supports Head of Procurement by representing category clusters towards management
  • Drives cross-functional collaboration and know-how exchange
  • Manages and optimizes assigned category cluster in respect to procurement strategy
  • Accountable for defining, developing and implementing category strategies
  • Drives cooperation and collaboration with internal stakeholders (OUs, Functional Departments) for assigned categories
  • Enables rapid integration of M&A s (e.g. contracts, synergies)
  • Holds accountability for negotiations /supplier contracts on a global level
  • Accountable of aligning group wide initiatives with key functions (e.g. country COO, country CIO)
  • Gives advice to and challenges Category Managers in regards of category related
    sourcing methods and procedures
  • Facilitates coordination, operational management, alignment and progress within assigned category teams
  • Monitors category progress and is responsible for communication and distribution of reports towards Head of Procurement
  • In collaboration with Category Managers monitors and evaluates supply risks and develops measures for risk mitigation
  • Assesses gaps and defines action plans in terms of enhancing performance, expansion of supplier basis in case of single sourcing as well as for mid and long term demands

  • Moderates potential target conflicts between group and country initiatives
  • Solves escalations with stakeholders
  • Broad and long lasting procurement experience especially in regards to Category Management
  • Extensive communication skills
  • Expert negotiation skills
  • Extensive analytical and conceptual skills
  • Experienced in cost savings and transformation projects
  • Proven professional experience
  • University graduate degree (Bachelor) in a related discipline
  • Multilingual (English mandatory)
