Location: Addison TX

Company: A late stage startup in the ultra highend smart bed industry. Founded by an experienced entrepreneur with previous successful startups in consumer products and home furnishings. Company is through the Beta prototype stage with anticipated product launch by the end of the year. Dedicated to revolutionizing sleep quality through innovative design and cuttingedge proprietary patented technology.

Responsibilities:

• Overall responsibility for the design testing and manufacture of Sleep Technologies smart bed.
  
• Lead the final engineering efforts to move from the current Beta prototype stage to a fully commercialized product launch.
  
• Build lead and manage a team (14) of developers engineers and technicians both inhouse and contractors from concept design through production.
  
• Oversee project management activities ensuring timelines and budgets are effectively managed.
  
• Coordinate all third party testing to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  
• Design and implement inhouse destructive and cycle testing protocols to ensure product durability and reliability.
  
• Oversee all software development ranging from device level programming firmware programming and App development.
  
• Oversee electromechanical development including power management CAN Bus communication motor control and overall electronic architecture
  
• Drive innovation by staying updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.
  
• Collaborate crossfunctionally with other departments to ensure seamless product development and launch processes.
  
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the team.
  

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in; Electrical Engineering Computer Science or other engineering degree with significant related experience.
  
• Proven experience in project management of software and electromechanical products within the consumer goods or medical products sector.
  
• Extensive experience with UL and other third party testing procedures and compliance requirements.
  
• Strong background in designing and conducting inhouse destructive and cycle testing.
  
• Proficiency in programming languages particularly C C and C Sharp preferably with experience programming nonphone ARM processors.
  
• Experience working in a startup environment preferably with consumer products.
  
• Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire team members and also work with customers and end consumers.
  
• Experience working with third party industrial design and engineering firms.
  
• Passion for innovation and a drive to push boundaries in product development.
  
• Ability to thrive in a fastpaced dynamic work environment.
