JOB INFORMATION
Job Title: Head of Commercial

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
This position is responsible for providing strategic leadership in our commercial department and driving efficiency in procurement management contract management inventory management fuel and freight hedging; project management as well as control storage and distribution of finished goods.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Lead the execution of the departmental strategy to contribute to the annual budgeted EBITA.
2. Formulate and implement procedures and controls on movement and storage of finished goods.
3. Provide oversight in project monitoring and management.
4. Oversee buyers in management of materials and services.
5. Lead negotiations on behalf of the Company and oversee price analysis and enforcement related reviews.
6. Oversee development and maintenance of an updated qualified supplier base enabling the business to optimise on competitive costs and quality of materials and services.
7. Manage the process of reviewing inventory level of critical spares monitoring status of materials in transit and mitigating risk of stock out.
8. Oversee assessment and periodic updates on controls on finished goods movement sourcing and buying and inventory management.
9. Review project progress and address bottlenecks.
10. Conduct approval of PR/PO/SES as scheduled.
11. Monitor Global Price Index for crude oil dry freight price hedging in order to undertake strategic decisions.
12. Build and manage relationships with stakeholders including suppliers contractors and users.
13. Provide leadership and performance management support to the Commercial team.
14. Ensure the motivation cohesiveness and alignment of the Commercial team members
15. Ensure the sourcing development and retention of a highperformance team.
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Academic and Professional Qualifications
A Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Procurement and Logistics or equivalent.
A Masters Degree will be an added advantage.
CIPS or its equivalent.
Experience
1215 years experience 6 of which should be in a senior management role in a similar position or busy function.
