Head of Accounting and Controlling

Role Objective

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Accounting and Controlling to oversee our team of four dedicated professionals in accounting and payroll. Reporting directly to our CFO this pivotal role ensures the integrity of our daytoday accountingin a way that enables the company to have a solid and legitimate financial operation of the company and facilitate scalability through M&A and organic growth.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting and Reporting

• Responsible for the daytoday accounting processes.
• Responsible for the monthend financial closing process including preparation of account reconciliations and supporting information.
• Manage cash including ensuring the proper controls over disbursements preparing bank reconciliations and preparing cash forecasts.
• Prepare accurate and timely weekly dashboards monthly reporting packages and quarterly presentations to the Duett Software Group as well as preparing other financial reports and ad hoc analyses as required

Audit and tax

• Lead the annual audit process for Duett including coordination with the external auditors preparing relevant analyses and promptly responding to all inquiries.
• Responsible for all tax and regulatory filings.

Budgeting and forecasting

• Work closely with the CFO to support work with budgeting and forecasting.

Processes and controls

• Develop implement and maintain consistent financial policies procedures and controls across all business units to ensure that there is a good handoff from operations to finance a strong internal control environment within the organization and timely and accurate reporting of operational and financial data.

IT systems

• Address accounting system weaknesses and remediate IT systems and related processes where needed.
• Work towards integrating and/or connecting IT systems to improve the financial and operational information available to provide management visibility.
• Automate financial and operational processes and procedures to the extent possible.

Your Experience

• Over 5 years of handson financial accounting experience with a minimum of 3 years of accounting manager in a similar business.
• Strong knowledge of technical accounting and financial best practices.
• Desirable with familiarity with SaaS industry best practices for revenue recognition and forecasting financial/operational metrics (i.e. ARR retention etc.) and project accounting and financial management.
• Desirable with experience overseeing the financial accounting function in a SaaS business as well as integrating and streamlining accounting and finance policies procedures and systems.
• Strong experience with Excel (pivot tables v lookups index match etc.) and Microsoft Office required
• Experience working with ERP and other IT systems
• Masters within audit accounting or finance strongly preferred but a relevant bachelor degree can be sufficient with strong experience.
