Job Description:

Our client is a listed mining company with operations in West Africa. This role has no direct subordinates but internally deals with finance staff both site and office based in addition to executive management and reports directly into the CFO. The successful incumbent must provide a high level of consistency and management of: Ownership of Group’s global insurance and treasury function; Optimise debt and refinancing; Effective and valued Treasury and Risk policies and processes; Interface with Accounts Payable team; Effective use of cash flow forecasting supporting business decisions, governance and risk management; Support of Corporate Governance and Compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Review all cash flow forecasts and reporting in assessing treasury risks for the Group
• Manage FX trading, working capital management.
• Manage Gold and Silver Sales, derivate contracts and policies
• Oversee group Treasury function
• Management of banking and debt covenants and reporting requirements
• Contact for banking relationship management
• Manage insurance program for the Group
• Ensure renewals are completed in a timely manner
• Ensure insurance program appropriate for the Group and risks managed
• Liaise with insurance consultants
• Interface with accounts payable team
• Internal and External Audit support
• Achieve strong performance in line with company objectives
• Develop a broader knowledge of the business to assist in making good business decisions

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting (BBus, BCom or equivalent).
• Membership of a professional accounting association (CA/CPA) or UK equivalent
• Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience, at least some of which has been gained in a listed company, preferably in the resources sector or alternatively in a top tier professional services firm
• Exposure to West Africa a preference
• Strong knowledge of treasury concepts, Funding, cash management, FX
• Strong financial accounting and treasury management capability
• Demonstrated knowledge of all areas of finance, accounting standards and processes and statutory requirements
• Demonstrated knowledge of accounting software packages and systems
• High level of personal drive
• Good awareness of impact of own style on others
• Sensitivity to adapt to working with different cultures
• UK based candidate
