Freelance Writer

• Write positive search engine-optimized blog articles about indigenous wisdom, especially regarding traditional ways of spirituality and healing in Ghana
  
• Act as a truth-teller for , creating content for each website voice that inspires and engages target audiences
  
• Be willing to research deeply and become an expert on subjects
  
• Research, find, and interview subject matter experts for articles you write
  
• Create and edit content for social media platforms, and generate social media engagement by working in tandem with organic social media influencers and paid social media channel owners
  
• Review, edit and update pages in WordPress as needed
  
• Provide editorial support and writing/editing for team members as needed
  

Requirements

• Excellent mastery of English spelling, grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure, with a proven ability to tweak style and tone
  
• Ability to speak, read and write in one other Ghanaian language
  
• Interested in working independently in an international, remote-only team
  
• Two to three years of professional writing experience with an emphasis on content created for the web and a portfolio of previously published work that showcases that experience
  
• Knowledge of SEO best practices
  
• The ability to gracefully accept constructive criticism and to use that input to improve future work
  
• Detail-oriented
  
• Ability to work independently, quickly, and efficiently without compromising quality
  
• Bachelors degree (preferably with a focus on communications, journalism, or writing) or commensurate professional experience
  
• Some travel may be involved
