Overview:
The Foreman Civil plays a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating construction projects. They are responsible for ensuring that all civil construction activities are carried out efficiently on time and within budget while adhering to safety and quality standards. The Foreman Civil is a key leadership position that requires strong organizational communication and problemsolving skills to effectively manage a team of construction workers and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities
- Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings
- Ensure compliance with project specifications and safety regulations
- Manage and maintain construction equipment and tools
- Monitor and report project progress to the project manager
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors
- Conduct quality control inspections
- Address any onsite issues and resolve conflicts
- Train and mentor construction crew members
- Implement and enforce site safety protocols
- Document daily construction activities and report on labor and material usage
- Assist in project planning and scheduling
- Manage inventory of construction materials
- Communicate with project stakeholders
- Ensure adherence to environmental regulations
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a Foreman Civil or similar role
- Strong knowledge of construction processes equipment and materials
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Excellent leadership and supervisory skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
- Sound understanding of safety and quality standards
- Problemsolving and decisionmaking skills
- Ability to work in a fastpaced and dynamic environment
- Familiarity with construction software and tools
- Physical stamina and agility for onsite work
- Valid drivers license
- Certification in construction management or a related field (preferred)
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
