FMCG COMMODITIES BUYER

Our client is an awardwinning leading brand of ambient foods. Popular by demand their products are launched across various FMCG stores throughout the UK and Europe.

Reporting into the CEO your role will involve managing the buying activities for the portfolio of products you are responsible for whilst minimising overstock situations and writeoffs. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is entrepreneurial and looking to further their career within Buying.

Responsibilities:

• Negotiate pricing for the correct product within a timely manner
• Ensure product specifications are complete and communicated to the supplier
• Negotiate shipping terms pricing and rates
• Provide purchasing information across relevant departments as and when required
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders i.e. supply management team
• Advise the management team on continuous improvement
• Provide planning and forecasting reports

Criteria:

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Experience in planning and forecasting
• Proven experience in commodities buying within the FMCG industry is essential
• Proven strategic and reporting skills
• Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships
• Ability to overcome challenges and provide solutions
