Finish Equipment Operator

Position Summary: As a Finish Equipment Operator your expertise in operating heavy construction machinery will be pivotal in delivering highquality infrastructure projects. As a skilled finish equipment operator you will be responsible for maneuvering various heavy equipment to achieve precise grading and finishing in accordance with project specifications.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will have 3 5 years experience in heavy civil construction and heavy equipment operation.
  • To be eligible for consideration all applicants must possess a valid Drivers License.
  • OSHA 10 certification and FDOT specifications experience preferred.
  • Excavator Skid Steer Dozer Loader GPS technology experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of excavator/backhoe loading requirements; load charts; critical picks.
  • Indepth knowledge of finished equipment operation traffic and highway safety rules and regulations.
  • Familiarity with precautionary measures to prevent accidents during heavy equipment operation.
  • Understanding of potential hazards associated with heavy equipment usage.
  • Proficiency in operating finish graders excavators pavers or similar heavy equipment.
  • Ability to comprehend follow and issue both oral and written instructions effectively.
  • Capable of heavy lifting climbing balancing stooping kneeling crawling crouching and reaching
  • Must have good vision stamina handeye coordination and ability to estimate size and dimensions.
  • Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies.
  • Able to work outdoors in dusty or dirty areas.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality craftmanship.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and achieve goals.
  • Adaptive to different personalities and management styles
  • Team player with good interpersonal skills
  • Dedicated and hardworking

Responsibilities:

  • Safe operation of a Finish Dozer.
  • Handling and/or moving material.
  • Maintain daily logs of equipment usage maintenance of equipment.
  • Identify report and correct hazards.
  • Perform tasks maintaining all health safety and environmental rules and ensure all work is done in a manner which enhances safety of the work environment.
  • Complete equipment condition reports as well as a daily checklist of work to be done on your equipment and provide to the Project Superintendent daily.
  • Cleaning the machines regularly. This includes sweeping the cabs and removing trash daily cleaning the interior weekly and lubricating doors and windows biweekly.
  • Understand and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures. Know where all utilities within the work zone are located. Be responsible for your own safety as well as those working in the area.
  • Inform your Superintendent or Foreman daily of your equipment fuel status so the fuel truck can be scheduled if needed for the next morning.
  • Make a note on your equipment report and let your Superintendent know if you need any supplies i.e.: grease oil rags cleaning supplies or if the machine needs to be steam cleaned.

Qualifications: AEC Bachelor s degree is preferred or equivalent related field experience with International Code Counsel, NICET, etc. Current certification required USACE/NAVFAC/NRC Construction Quality Management certification preferred but not required Industry certifications for testing and inspection as required to review and certify that the test, inspection, and procedures satisfy requirements Limited travel for projects as necessary Level 1 QCM Minimum 7 years of AEC experience, with 3 years preferred in a Quality role Good communication skills, critical thinking and problem solving abilities, and ability to prioritize, organize and manage time Knowledge of standards, specifications and publications of job related duties
