Financial Controller

Location: OnSite Marksville LA

Salary Range: $100000.00 $120000.00

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • Minimum five (5) years related experience in the casino or hospitality
  • Knowledge of importance of clean financial systems
  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills

About the Role

In charge of overseeing the operational direction administration and coordination of the General Accounting Team's activities the Controller will manage daily accounting tasks conduct account analysis and oversee monthend closing activities. The objective is to ensure the production of accurate and timely financial statements in alignment with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and posts accruals reclasses and amortization of prepaid items.
  • Reconciles balance sheet accounts ensuring timely clearance of outstanding items.
  • Maintains supporting schedules and documentation per internal controls.
  • Posts and reconciles subledgers systems to the general ledger analyzing integration and resulting journal entries.
  • Collaborates with revenue accounting Accounts Payable and Payroll for monthly financial statements.
  • Facilitates invoicing for direct bill customers responds to inquiries and monitors outstanding balances.
  • Maintains records of fixed assets depreciation and provides guidance on nonstandard transactions.
  • Develops implements and maintains accounting/audit processes and systems.
  • Provides leadership guidance and resources to achieve objectives.
  • Creates effective schedules monitors labor costs and improves staff effectiveness through hiring coaching and training.
  • Implements staff development plans for professional growth within the organization.
  • Ensures compliance with laws rules and regulations.
  • Facilitates information flow through regular departmental meetings.

Candidate Requirements

  • Effective communication organizational and analytical skills.
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays.
  • Strong numbers orientation and computer literacy.
  • Superior spreadsheet skills with proficiency in Excel preferred.
  • Proficiency in Infinium Agilysys LMS InfoGenesis or similar business solution software preferred.
