Financial Director - FX, Payments & Fintech

The ideal candidate should possess a robust background as a Financial Controller with a strong accountant-based skillset. This key leadership role requires exceptional financial acumen, a deep understanding of the FX and Payments landscape and the ability to navigate the intricacies of the fintech sector.

Responsibilities

Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to set financial targets and allocate resources effectively.

2. Financial Operations:

Oversee the day-to-day financial operations including; accounting, financial reporting and cash flow management.

Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Manage financial risk through rigorous internal controls and monitoring of financial processes.

3. Deliverable FX and Payments Expertise:

Leverage your deep understanding of the FX and Payments industry to guide the companys FX strategies and payment solutions.

Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge in the industry.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement innovative FX and payment solutions that enhance customer experience.

4. Leadership and Team Management:

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of finance professionals, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.

Provide guidance and direction to ensure accurate financial reporting, adherence to deadlines and achievement of team goals.

5. Stakeholder Engagement:

Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners and financial institutions.

Represent the company in financial discussions, negotiations and meetings with investors, regulatory bodies and industry peers.

Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements.

Conduct in-depth financial analysis to evaluate performance, identify trends and make informed recommendations for improvement.

7. Systems and Process Improvement:

Drive continuous improvement initiatives in financial systems, processes and workflows to enhance operational efficiency.

Identify opportunities to leverage fintech innovations and automation to streamline financial operations.

8. Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure adherence to relevant financial regulations, compliance frameworks and reporting requirements within the FX, Payments and Fintech sectors.

Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to manage regulatory audits and examinations.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field, or an advanced finance qualification.

Proven track record as a Financial Controller or similar role in the FX, Payments or Fintech industry.

Expertise in accounting principles, financial reporting and analysis.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

In-depth knowledge of deliverable FX, cross-border payments and fintech trends.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strategic thinker with the ability to translate financial insights into actionable strategies.

Familiarity with relevant financial software and systems.

Regulatory compliance expertise within the financial services sector.
