What does an Finance Director do at Collinson?

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced finance leader to join our team as Finance Director, Global Finance Business Partnering. This critical role will be instrumental in driving financial strategy, analysis, and collaboration across our global organisation.

As Finance Director, Global Finance Business Partnering, you will lead a team of finance business partners responsible for partnering with various business units and senior leaders globally to provide strategic financial insights, support decision-making, and drive financial performance. You will be a key member of the finance leadership team.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

    • Strategic Financial Partnering: Collaborate with business unit leaders to understand their objectives, challenges, and financial needs. Provide strategic financial guidance and insight to drive business growth and profitability.
    • Financial Planning and Analysis: Collaborate as required with the financial planning and analysis teams to ensure proper process, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning. Ensure alignment with corporate goals and objectives.
    • Performance Measurement: Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to monitor business performance. Analyse results and provide recommendations for improvement. This role will include overseeing the design and delivery of insightful monthly dashboard and management reporting to the key global business function internal customers
    • Risk Management: Identify financial risks and opportunities, and work with business units to develop mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.
    • Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing team of finance business partners. Provide mentorship, coaching, and development opportunities for team members.
    • Change Leadership: Drive necessary change across your team and support implementation of new ways of working, new processes and systems, fostering an ethos of growth mindset within teams
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster collaboration with other finance functions (e.g., Accounting, Treasury) to ensure seamless financial operations and reporting.
    • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate financial results, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership and key stakeholders. Translate complex financial concepts into clear, actionable insights. This role will include working with the regional Finance Directors and their teams to ensure global product, operations and shared services teams plans and priorities are effectively communicated and aligned to ensure optimal allocation and recharge of shared resources
    • Continuous Improvement: Drive process improvements and implement best practices in financial business partnering to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

Key skills and experience to be evidenced within your application include

    • Have several years of experience in a Global organisation and are ready for a new career move.
    • Bachelors degree or equivalent qualification preferred
    • Finance qualification required (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, AAT)
    • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills
    • Ability to build trusted relationships, both internal and external and have experience with stakeholder management, people and influencing skills.
    • Are Highly numerate with a commercial mindset. Experience in design of cost centres, recharge models, analytics and predictive modelling to improve forecasting accuracy would be an advantage
    • Ability to work under pressure and with changing demands, priorities, and deadlines.
    • Ability to build and lead diverse and high-performing teams
    • Proven experience in finance leadership roles with proven ability to lead financial business partnering teams
    • Are organised and open to new ways of working to challenge inefficiencies and secure continuous improvements.
    • Are a self-motivated, reliable & flexible team player, who can work on own initiative.
    • Bring excellent communication and presentation skills both written and verbal, and able to communicate with people at all levels across the business and develop effective relationships at all levels.
