Family Law Attorney

Role Description

This is a fulltime onsite position for a family law attorney in Chula Vista California. The attorney will be in charge of handling all family law problems on a daily basis.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed to practice law in California and in good standing with the California Bar Association.
• Experience independently managing various Family Law matters.
• Understanding of legal concerns and processes relating to family law. The candidate must be up to speed on California Family Law legislation and appellate rulings.
• Experience preparing motions pleadings trail briefs discovery requests and all family law documents.
• Manage applications and software such as mycase clio important forms lexisnexis dissomaster microsoft office and similar programs.
• Excellent writing and vocal communication abilities for interacting with clients opposing attorneys and judges.
• Effective workload management requires strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish the candidate must be available to work in person at our Chula Vista office.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as an attorney is required.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain effective communication channels with prospective and existing clients.
• Represent clients in court hearings and settlement discussions giving arguments throughout the legal procedures.
• Conduct legal research as needed.
• Create legal documents such as pleadings discovery motions trial briefs and answers to communications.
• Meet statutory deadlines for caserelated obligations.
• Identify client conflicts and develop case strategy including possibilities for settlement
• Fulfill a minimum weekly billing requirement of 30 hours.
