About the role

As an Expert Ancient and World Coins you will be closely involved with evaluating and arranging lots submitted by our users. Using your expert knowledge and your extensive network you will be responsible for creating attractive auctions every week. Catawiki strives to keep user transactions as transparent and fair as possible and your expertise and experience play a large part in maintaining this standard; you know better than anyone what items are of interest to our users.

You will review lot titles descriptions lot pictures and provide users with an estimated value based on this information. If you need to reject a submission you do so in a professional and courteous manner. You demonstrate a strong understanding of the market dynamics and pricing. Your efforts result in exceptional auctions that bidders will find irresistible. We expect you to create your auctions by engaging with your network and top sellers and by working with our Sales teams to attract new Sellers and offer even more choices to our Buyers.You will guide sellers through the whole process ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.

You will play a crucial role in expanding our network of sellers within your area of expertise. You will be leveraging your industry contacts and proactively building new relationships to expand our network of sellers. You will provide valuable insights and feedback to enhance the overall seller experience.

You will be working together with our sales and marketing teams. You will proactively review seller segments assist team members in onboarding high potential leads and scaling existing sellers. You will collaborate with sales and marketing to align strategies and maximise the sales of your auctions.

Who you are

We do not necessarily require any diplomas or experience in similar functions however we do require:

• Expert knowledge in your field; with broad knowledge around Ancient and World Coins We will consider candidates with different specialties please be prepared to share your knowledge areas)
• A network of dealers and buyers.
• Documented commercial experience;
• You are a natural team player and thrive in a diverse team environment;
• Excellent English communication;
• Good computer skills;
• Naturally you have an extensive network of potential sellers and experts in your field;
• You have the diplomatic competence needed to act as a mediator in disputes between users;
• Experience analysing and implementing data within your work and utilising data for future growth within the category.
• Fluent in English

Our offices and way of working

We have sensational offices in Amsterdam Groningen Paris and our newest office in Lisbon. Most of our employees are within commutable distance of one of our office locations and enjoy a hybrid work model. This means we expect you to be in the office 2 out of 5 days roughly 40% of your working time to collaborate and connect with each other. The exception is of course if the job description specifically states that the role is 100% remote as some experts and sales positions are.
