Estimator

• Duties and Responsibilities:
  
• Assist with project selection.
  
• Attend prebid walk through.
  
• Prepare accurate and detailed quantity takeoffs & estimates.
  
• Breakdown projects into functional stages.
  
• Ability to receive and evaluate subcontractor quotes for applicable scopes and alignment with bid documents.
  
• Developing and maintaining relationships with customer base.
  
• Work directly with owners construction managers architects engineers and contractors.
  
• Accurately review project schedules for applicable scopes.
  
• Review and incorporate historical data from past projects into unit and manhour figures.
  
• Prepare bid analysis and review with the estimating group.
  
• Prepare budget pricing or firm proposals as required for customers.
  
• Preparation of request for proposal for applicable scopes of work needed including understanding small business goal requirements.
  
• Provide a financial job cost analysis and project handoff transition to the project team including risk analysis.
  
• Resource subcontractors materials and equipment.
  
• Provide leadership to others through example and by sharing knowledge and skill.
  

Requirements

• Associates or Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred or a combination of experience technical training and/or education is acceptable.
  
• Ability to read understand and interpret specifications and drawings.
  
• Excellent communication skills and leadership ability.
  
• High level of attention to detail and cost analysis.
  
• Ability to accurately read schedules for sequencing and duration of applicable scopes of work.
  
• Proficiency with computer takeoff & estimating software such as HCSS Heavy Bid as well as use of the Microsoft Office package.
  
• Ability to juggle multiple projects and keep each on schedule ensuring that all deadlines are met.
  
• Ability to communicate well with all levels of employees within the company.
  
• Must be flexible and enjoy working with a diverse group in a fastpaced environment.
  
• Team player attitude.
