Summary
- Assists the project management teams by developing monitoring and updating estimates and/or an integrated project plan so that the project may be executed most efficiently. Provides expertise and develops methods and techniques standards processes procedures guidelines and templates for the Project Controls organization to support efficient development management and control of project estimating/scheduling. Coaches mentors trains and provides oversight of project estimators in estimating/ tools techniques and processes. This is an individual contributor job.
Key Accountabilities
- Supports the project teams and estimating/scheduling personnel efforts towards the development of the project plan and translating that project plan into the project costloaded schedules.
- Leads develops and provides analysis of project estimates Ensures the credibility of the information contained in the Project cost loaded schedules.
- Assists with the preparation of project time and/or cost claims.
- Oversees the development and recording of the projects historical estimate information
- Work with the Project Manager and or IT delivery lead to monitor and update the cost forecast sheet for upcoming spends
- Analyze Estimate at completion (EAC) to initial project estimates and capture lessons learned
- Provides expertise to develop methodologies techniques and tools software standards and guidelines for estimating; expert knowledge in the application of estimating software and application of the software.
- Provides direct support and expertise to project personnel and estimators regarding estimating and/or planning.
- Ensures that required project estimating and/or planning controls are appropriately implemented and maintained.
- Provides continuous improvement of the Project Controls organization through benchmarking and maintaining affiliations with industry estimating organizations and local/national chapters.
Minimum Education & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Architecture Construction Management Business Business Administration or a related field and the knowledge and experience generally acquired through 7plus years of jobrelevant experience
- Estimator: 4 years of engineering experience/background in estimating on large construction projects in the energy domain preferably renewables (Solar Wind etc.)
- Electrical Work (Substations OH and UG) and some Civil Engineering Background
- Estimating all project costs (i.e. engineering design project management construction commissioning etc.)
- Familiarity with intermediatelevel experience using Onscreen take and any other estimating software
