Environmental Health Safety Specialist

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide EHS support for multiple locations.
• Manage EHS compliance programs observing federal state and local regulations.
• Along with the facility team interface with regulatory agencies including OSHA EPA plus state/local regulatory agencies (e.g. Cal/OSHA Yolo County Air District).
• Provide EHS training (i.e. RCRA HAZCOM Lockout/Tagout Forklift PPE etc.).
• Coordinate and/or undertake environmental monitoring (air water and waste management).
• Develop written procedures and conduct safety and environmental assessments.
• Undertake permitting and associated deliverables management.
• Conduct safety inspections environmental audits and corrective action planning.
• Lead the investigation of all accidents and incidents.
• Lead any workers compensation initiatives with Human Resources.
• Maintain EHS files and records to ensure compliance with all applicable EHS policies and regulations.
• Interface with facility management and the Corporate EHS Department.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelors degree
• 5 years of related experience.
• Excellent working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations (i.e. EPCRA CAA CWA SPCC etc.).
• Knowledge of proper protocol for exposure/industrial hygiene monitoring.
• Experience with environmental reporting
• Experience in accident investigation analysis and corrective action planning.
• Interact with all levels of the organization.
• Manage tasks/costs for EHS projects.
• EHSrelated certifications or commitment to obtain within 12 months.
