Engineering Technician I

Job Title: Engineering Technician I 38768 John Deere

Major Purpose:

• Performs instrumented tests using existing procedures to verify that machine performance meets the product specification. Supports all product groups in the product verification and validation process.

Major Duties:

• Designs schedules and performs field and/or lab tests to validate new product designs.
• Develops programs for data acquisition.
• Collects and installs instrumentation for test.
• Compiles test reports that document procedures and communicates results and guidance to design group.
• Gives work direction to test operators.
• Coordinates interaction with experimental shop and field test to ensure test activities correlate with available parts and current design iteration.

Shift:

• 1st shift

Specific Position Requirements:

• This position is for an Engineering Technician to help set up and execute test activities in a component wind tunnel.
• This position includes activities with mechanical hydraulic electrical and cooling systems.
• Work in addition to test setup and execution will include maintaining a clean and well organized lab facility and maintaining test equipment.
• Mechanical carpentry and / or HVAC experience is required. Basic computer skills and understanding of Microsoft Office applications are required.
• Experience with agricultural construction offhighway or automotive equipment / vehicles is preferred.

Addition Note:

• This position will primarily be first shift work but it will occasionally require flexibility in hours due to test execution (shift normal days work either 12 hours early or later depending on availability).
• This position requires metatarsal guard boots eye protection ear protection safety gloves and a bump cap.
• OT hours may be requested by Client.
