Job Description
Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer
- Location: Lexington MA (60% onsite)
- Job Type: W2 Contract
Background/Need
The Tactical Networks Group specializes in advanced network and communications systems development with a focus on mobile DoD networks operating at the tactical edge. These tactical wireless networks differ from commercial wireless networks in the lack of infrastructure to support stable connectivity. The DoD operational environment also presents additional challenges such as electronic warfare.
The Tactical Networks Group uses a combination of technical analysis modeling simulation emulation prototype development and flight tests to develop new communication systems and evaluate and predict their performance.
- Designing software for embedded processors (such as ARM Cortexclass processors).
- Developing designs in C/C.
- Working with laboratory benchtop testing and equipment such as Logic Analyzers Digital Oscilloscopes and Spectrum Analyzers.
- Working with Petalinux Yocto/OpenEmbedded and creating/customizing embedded Linux distributions and board support packages (BSPs).
- Strong proficiency with git version control system.
- Bachelors Degree (in Computer Science Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering Mathematics Physics or related scientific/engineering field).
- Experience on crossfunctional teams; designing/developing software driver interfaces with collaborative input from FPGA developers.
- Familiarity with Xilinx Versal and/or Zynq Ultrascale.
- Designing and implementing scripts (Bash Python etc.).
- Strong familiarity with using Linux/Unix OS command line and package management.
- Documenting designs in wikis (Confluence Git etc.).
- Masters Degree and/or PhD.
Education & Experience: Bachelors plus 5 Years of relevant work experience.
