Embedded Engineer

6 month contract Embedded Software Engineer required to join an existing project team and provide support to the development (design and designer tests) of railway Application Software (ASw) integration and conduct functional tests in the lab. The overall drive will be to achieve further software development integrity.

Location: Charleroi

Hybrid (2 days a week on site)

Tasks

As the ideal candidate you will take charge of Software development including design integration and designer tests.

Candidate Requirements: Educational Requirements: Hold an engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) with a software focus (or telecom/automatics) and specific training/experience in software design and development. Alternatively possess a Masters in mathematics (with a preference for a software orientation) or a Masters in physics with software training and experience. Other suitable degree/background will also be considered.

Requirements

Desired Knowledge/Experience: Have a minimum of 4 or 5 years of experience in Software design and programming. Experienced in realtime embedded Software Development. Experienced in ASw design. Experienced in ERTMS railway applications (preferably nonlegacy applications; otherwise avionic or automobile applications). Knowledge of communication and safety protocols.

Benefits

Technical Skills & Competencies: Proficient in Ada 95 programming language (or Delphi or C if Ada knowledge is lacking). Familiarity with functional Software specification using Teamwork tools. Experience in configuration and modification management using Clearcase and Clearquest tools.
