The client is looking for an Electrical Project Manager to join their Data Center Capacity Planning Team. This team member is responsible for ensuring that the data center power system loads is properly balanced at the cabinet level when capacity rises or decreases. Each case or project will be analyzed based on existing data anticipated growth patterns and other criteria. This team member will help and guide the drafting team as they create data center cabinet installation design packages and load planning documents. This role will be highly collaborative amongst Client staff and clients. Travel is not a regular requirement for this role but may be beneficial to periodically visit sites for training or to obtain information on new projects or designs. This role can be based in Phoenix Arizona or Austin TX.
Job Duties
- Drive improvements and automation throughout the whole process.
- Managing the input of client work orders till complete fulfillment
- Casebycase examination of electrical infrastructure based on projected deployments of new customer installations
- Load balancing and analytics for data centers power systems
- Run recurring status update meetings for customers and internal teams.
- Designing circuits at the data center cabinet level and deploying upstream feeders as well as QA/QC of construction documentation.
- Continuous monitoring and assessment of both master data center expansion plans and individual customer cabinet installations.
- Acts as the primary point of contact with the client giving updates on deliverables choices and overall project status.
Minimum Qualifications
- Outstanding organization attention to detail and outstanding written and spoken communication abilities.
- 5 years of project management experience in the electrical engineering field.
- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering (we will consider Engineering in Training certification). Will consider additional engineering degrees when paired with electrical expertise.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office with a concentration on Excel AutoCAD and BlueBeam
- Extensive experience in data center capacity planning and client interactions.
- Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution data center redundancy and diverse topologies.
- Ability to think strategically and display flexibility in order to attain longterm goals.
- Selfmotivated capable of dealing with ambiguity and eager to collaborate.
- Proficiency with coding languages and other data collection tools a plus
- P.E. license is not essential however it is a great to have.
