Job Description
Pay Rate: $53.00 / hour
We have partnered with an engineering and construction company in the Lakewood CO area to provide them with an Electrical Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Designer 4. Please review the below description and let us know if you are interested.
Prioritized Must Have Skills for the Electrical I & C Designer:
#1. Must have at least 7yrs of Electrical instrumentation & Controls design experience.
#2. Must have electrical design experience in 3D models and drawing packages completed in AutoCAD.
#3. Must have Instrumentation & Controls Design experience including redlined drawing revisions control panel and instrument junction box location plans control panel and instrument junction box layout and design I/O wiring diagrams loop diagrams control system network architecture control system power distribution fire and gas safety location plans emergency shutdown systems and schematics instrument locations plans instrument installation details work point locations for circuit schedule and BOM creation.
#4. No more than 3 jobs in the last 10 years
Responsibilities of the Electrical I & C Designer:
Duties include illustrating the electrical design in 3D models and drawing packages completed in AutoCAD. This position will collaborate with engineers to gather the required information and complete tasks and calculations to complete these drawing packages.
- Completes required tasks including 3D modeling redlined drawing revisions electrical design calculations schematic drawing creation cable tray layouts electrical AutoCAD block programming dimensioned and multilayer drawing creation onelines area classification development schematics grounding heat trace circuit schedules electrical details BOM creation lighting design and calculations.
- Coordinates with all disciplines to create an accurate and complete model.
- Completes required tasks including redlined drawing revisions control panel and instrument junction box location plans control panel and instrument junction box layout and design I/O wiring diagrams loop diagrams control system network architecture control system power distribution fire and gas safety location plans emergency shutdown systems and schematics instrument locations plans instrument installation details work point locations for circuit schedule and BOM creation.
- Ability to read and understand Instrument Indexes I/O Lists and P&IDs.
- Coordinates with I&C Engineers to create an accurate and complete drawing package.
- Prepares final construction drawings to reflect the engineered/modeled design.
- Updates drawings per engineer comments.
Requirements of the Electrical I & C Designer:
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills.
- Problemsolving skills to be able to resolve simple problems quickly and effectively.
- Ability to selfdirect and take responsibility for own tasks deliverables and timelines.
- Leadership skills and some general experience leading work groups or task forces in specific projects.
- Competent user of technology and software required to execute daily tasks.
- The work environment is the typical office environment. The employee must complete their work satisfactorily in an environment where there are significant distractions including staff clients and vendors walking through and conversing telephones ringing conversations carrying over loud noises and interruptions to answer questions from others.
