Electrical Engineer - Drilling

Job Description

Client is looking for exceptional Electrical Engineers to join our team in the greater Houston TX area. The ideal Electrical Engineer will have 10 years of experience with Power System design and/or Power Generation control system experience for onshore or offshore drilling units. You should have experience with marine and safety systems and power drive systems (e.g. drilling dynamic positioning and other applications). You should also have working knowledge and fluency with drilling BOP ESD and rig position control systems (jacking mooring dynamic positioning) with respect to design operating and maintenance principles.



The position is an onsite position in the Greater Houston area. Work related travel may be required.



You will:


Design power systems and power generation control systems power distribution and protection systems.
Provide support with respect to design operating and maintenance principles with drilling Blowout Preventers (BOP) Equivalent Static Density (ESD) and rig position control systems (jacking mooring dynamic positioning).
Work with power systems from reputed OEM companies.



You Will Need:



Bachelor in Electrical Engineering; a MS is a plus
Minimum of 1015 years in Power System design and/or Power Generation control system experience for onshore or offshore drilling units.
Working knowledge and fluency with drilling BOP ESD and rig position control systems (jacking mooring dynamic positioning)
Experience working on drilling rigs like drill ships or jackup will be a plus.
Design and maintenance knowledge of power system switchgear and drives of ABB or Siemens preferred.
Ability to successfully pass a Drug Screen and Background Check.
