Summary:

The Electrical Engineering Manager serves as Senior Electrical Engineer on project work for clients and supervises the work of electrical department personnel within Chemstress. This person provides leadership technical engineering support and guidance for the discipline team members. The Department Manager assists the project and administrative management teams with resolution of issues related to personnel scheduling and ensuring that discipline project work is completed within budget and schedule. The Department Manager will ensure that project services and deliverables meet Chemstress quality standards and technical standards required for each clients project. This individual is expected to fulfill the requirements of the position and understands that the design process includes visiting clients facilities where they may be expected to perform physical work.

Interacts with management staff to schedule department personnel and resources

Conducts performance reviews provides mentoring determines training needs participates in interview and hiring process as related to department personnel encourage and develop intangible skillsets among department members (e.g. dependability versatility emotional intelligence selfawareness etc.)

Reviews and maintains department procedures standard drawings and softwarebased tools

Utilize and encourage improvements and problemsolving in design and drafting to increase productivity maintain quality and improve project schedule and/or cost

Maintains effective communication with project team members other departments suppliers contractors and clients

Performs as lead electrical engineer on single or multidiscipline projects directing the work of personnel and ensuring all standards are monitored.

Design and specification of transformers motor control centers switchgear power and control panels generators grounding systems lighting systems security and fire alarm systems heat tracing systems and related industrial plant systems.

Perform basic power system equipment commissioning and startup in the field

Review supplier quotations and create bid tabulations

Reviews department calculations and documents interdepartment check sets and submittals to verify compliance with all Chemstress policies procedures and standards

Assists in developing resolutions to field design/constructability issues

Provide professional seal for governmental permitting procedures

Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly

Accepts other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Education/Experience

Min. 10 to 20 years experience or more; industrialtype projects (hazardous/flammable environments industrial equipment); lighting/grounding/power distribution load studies arc flash studies electrical area classification; personnel management.

Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university; Professional Engineer (PE) license and Industry related training certification(s) preferred

Ten (10) or more years working in at least three (3) of the following service areas: Chemicals Petrochemicals Polymers/Resins compounding and Manufacturing

Fluent knowledge of all facets of industrial power systems including project execution including conceptualization funding design construction and commissioning

Thorough working knowledge of industrial power and lighting systems and industrial control systems

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word PowerPoint and Excel)

Familiarity with AutoCAD Navisworks AutoCAD MEP and Revit software

Possess a working knowledge of the National Electrical Code NFPA 30 NFPA 497 NFPA 499 IEEE 1584 Building Codes and NFPA70E

Experience with power systems overcurrent protection protective relaying power system device coordination Arc Flash Studies control wiring schematic diagrams and detail control drawings

Ability to specify power system distribution equipment thru 35kV

Eligibility Requirements:

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction

Authorize a background investigation including verification of past employment criminal history and educational background

Submit to a drug test post offer

Possess a valid drivers license

Accepts that this position may require some domestic overnight travel including the potential for occasional extended assignments.
