Overview


The ECHO Technician plays a critical role in the healthcare organization by performing diagnostic imaging procedures using specialized equipment to create images and conduct tests for patient evaluation. They are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and quality of diagnostic results contributing to the overall patient care and treatment process.

Key Responsibilities


  • Operate ECHO equipment to perform diagnostic imaging procedures on patients.
  • Prepare and position patients for ECHO procedures ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Follow standard protocols for conducting ECHO tests and capturing images of the heart.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate interpretation of ECHO test results.
  • Assist in the maintenance and calibration of ECHO equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Record and maintain patient records ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of information.
  • Adhere to safety and infection control protocols during ECHO procedures.
  • Participate in quality control and assurance activities to maintain high standards of imaging.
  • Provide support and reassurance to patients during the ECHO procedure addressing any concerns or questions.

Required Qualifications


  • Associates degree in Echocardiography or related field.
  • Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an ECHO Technician in a healthcare setting.
  • Comprehensive understanding of medical terminology and cardiovascular anatomy.
  • Proficiency in ECHO imaging techniques and equipment operation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced and dynamic healthcare environment.
  • Knowledge of quality control standards and procedures in diagnostic imaging.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in capturing and documenting ECHO test results.
  • Commitment to patient care privacy and ethical conduct in healthcare practices.
