Job Summary:
The Dispensing Audiologist Hearing Aid Specialist works as an audiologist conferring with appropriate professionals regarding patient care and management. This role prioritizes members/patients and their needs actively seeking information to understand their circumstances problems expectations and needs.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice.
- Ensure patient safety in care provisioning related to medications procedures infection prevention and fall prevention.
- Measure hearing acuity and identify the type and degree of hearing loss for patients of all ages.
- Assess the integrity of the auditory system and the function of the vestibular system.
- Provide counseling and training for individuals with vestibular disorders and participate in the multidisciplinary management of balance rehabilitation.
- Determine audiologic candidacy for implantable devices and provide pre and postsurgical assessment counseling and all aspects of audiologic treatment.
- Prepare written reports of diagnostic test results and recommendations.
- Counsel dispense and troubleshoot hearing aids BAHAs and assistive listening devices.
- Provide tinnitus education rehabilitation and counseling.
- Make custom ear products for patients.
- Design implement and coordinate industrial and community hearing conservation programs.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Audiology OR Doctoral Degree in Audiology (Au.D.).
- Current registration and licensure in Audiology by the State of Colorado or eligibility for licensure in Colorado.
- Certification of Clinical Competency in Audiology from the American SpeechLanguageHearing Association OR ABA Board Certification in Audiology.
- National Provider Identifier (NPI) and Taxonomy code required at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Comfortable fitting patients of all ages including pediatric patients birth and up.
