Position Overview:

The Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago seeks proven foundationgiving professionals to significantly contribute to the vitality and growth of Catholic Charities partnerships with foundations with a common mission and vision to support social justice thriving mothers and children senior care immigrant resettlement and other vital human services in our region. Successful candidates will have demonstrated experience and success in identifying cultivating and securing foundation partnerships as well as managing and growing a strong grants management function/team.

What You Will Be Responsible For:

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage CCAC’s foundation grant portfolio.
  • Oversee strategy and execution around all foundation grant and contract prospecting for new and renewal grants in close collaboration with the Senior Director – Government and Foundation Advancement and individual giving team.
  • Document and oversee the execution of highly effective grant research and writing procedures.
  • Identify track and pursue potential grant opportunities through foundation sources.
  • Establish trusted relationships and collaboratively partner with CCAC leaders to:
    • Curate and grow CCAC’s foundation grants portfolio ensuring alignment with CCAC’s mission strategy operating objectives financial targets and client service goals.
    • Ensure excellence in grant writing management (e.g. reporting compliance completion/signoff and as appropriate renewals).
    • Administer a regular robust grant consideration process.
    • Ensure all communications messaging and outreach strategies build upon CCAC’s overarching objectives.
    • Lead process for grantseeking approval in collaboration with other leaders across CCAC.
  • Lead and manage foundation grant writing to steward funder relationships with integrity display excellence in grant writing and clearly communicate with funders.
  • Lead Grant Managers to high performance maintaining proactive accurate and detailed records of all grant activities including but not limited to organization systems project tracking updating CRM etc.
  • Allocate Grants Manager capacity provide mentorship/development and manage performance.
  • Partner with other staff across the organization on the implementation of an integrated system of databases and software to support bestinclass grants management.

What You Bring to the Role:

  • Must demonstrate superior writing and editing skills.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Experience in fundraising and government and foundation grant writing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel) is required.
  • Strong research skills and knowledge of information sources.
  • Experience with team leadership and management.
  • Extensive experience managing and developing growing and diverse teams for high performance including hiring and professional development for writers.
  • Data analysis project management experience and funder prospect research experience.

Compensation and Benefits:

The opportunity includes a competitive salary ranging from $85000 $120000 based on experience and a generous benefits package. The position is hybrid with 12 days per week working remotely.
