The Director of Med Surgery Specialty ensures highquality patientcentered care through oversight of the overall function and staffing of the unit in addition to forecasting planning and budget monitoring. The Director also fosters a culture of accountability and collaboration and supports the development and implementation of strategies policies and procedures in support of facility objectives.
The Director assumes 24hour responsibility and accountability for nursing care for PostSurgical Care Units of Orthopedics Oncology and Neurosciences at Trident Medical Center. The Director assumes responsibility for the care of patients as they move through the hospital and into the home or other care facilities. Provides leadership and support to the unit using leadership skills to ensure the best outcomes and highquality compassionate patient care. The director works with medical staff and other healthcare professionals collaboratively. Support the mission vision and values of the organization. The job may include direct supervision of students at the discretion of the area supervisor. Employees must have the same licensure or have completed the same training to satisfy the requirements of the discipline of the student. Direct supervision means the primary caregiver is readily available to the student throughout the shift.
