Director Inventory Management

WORK LOCATION: Berlin, Warsaw or Zielona G ra or remotely within Poland or Germany

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The future holder of this position will be responsible for all inventory topics. The focus is - in cooperation with the Chief Operations Officer - on business management, the optimisation of procurement processes, the expansion of the existing inventory reporting, the further optimisation of sales forecasting in cooperation with IT.

The goal is to maximise margins and inventory turn while at the same time mitigating out of stock risks with a high degree of digitalisation and automation.

The main scope of responsibilities will include:

• Methodical development of controlling instruments
• Development and implementation of a modern AI-based forecasting system
• Further development of simulations for inventory development as well as planning of re-orders with the aim of maximising margins and minimising tied-up capital
• Coordinate and control the cross-departmental procurement processes together with the Marketing, Commercial, Finance departments and our Procurement team in China.
• Expansion of the existing risk management system and installation of early warning systems
• Building and using forecasts to plan our future sales and inventory demands.
• Preparation and evaluation of decision documents for C-Level
• Further development of the existing BI together with the IT team
• Expansion of the existing data model
• Support of warehouse capacity planning

WHAT YOU BRING IN

• Very good knowledge of the e-commerce business and international market environment.
• Several years of professional experience in consulting, category management or inventory management.
• BSc/BA or Master in business administration or other relevant fields
• Strong business acumen with the smooth transition between an analysis and drawing business conclusions
• The ability to formulate strategies and business models to analyse situations from a global perspective
• Ability to identify and prioritise potential objectives and translate broad corporate strategy into clear specific objectives
• Strong analytical skills
• Action-focused approach
• Very high interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to communicate clearly with a high level of assertiveness.
• Ability to motivate and empower teams to achieve our goals.
• Fluent written and oral in English is a requirement, proficiency in German and/or Polish would be a plus
