Positions Contributions to Work Group:

Analysis of aftertreatment capability and sizing tradeoffs. Simulation of catalyst performance and understanding of diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) and engine system performance. This individual will be a point of contact for aftertreatment test instruction project plan status results and next steps.

Typical task breakdown:

• Review test cell data and ensure no issues with Aftertreatment or performance shift.
• Ensure all cell hardware is accounted for current and future programs. Make sure they are tracked properly electronically to accumulate hours.
• Run simulations to ensure catalyst performance meets program needs.
• Perform analysis for new programs on total catalyst volume needed to meet required emissions
• Troubleshoot and fix aftertreatment related issues/codes in test cell especially during install
• Create aftertreatment related diagnostic maps and simulate they trip
• Gather test cell data for boundary conditions hardware will undergo while testing/out in application and for emission cycles.

Interaction with team:

• The individual will be responsible for communicating results and issues to team members suppliers and engine system development process partners.

Education & Experience Required:

• Bachelors degree in an accredited Engineering Material Science Chemistry or related curriculum and 25 years of progressive work experience

Technical Skills (Required)

• Catalyst Experience
• Test Experience
• Matlab and/or Python analysis and modeling for engine and/or aftertreatment performance

(Desired)

• Proficiency in DatK and Canape
• Excellent analytical skills
• Experience with engine and/or aftertreatment performance data reduction and analysis.
• Strong understanding of engine and aftertreatment systems.
• Ability to draw conclusions from analysis and make decisions
