Title: Lead Infrastructure Engineer
Duration: Full Time
Salary: $110K annually with benefits
Location: Remote
A sysplex is a collection of z/OS images that cooperate using certain hardware and software products to process workloads
The Lead/Senior Infrastructure Engineer Position will require a detailed understanding of the z/OS operating system environment installation processes system utilities and diagnostic procedures. Learn the aspects of the companys complex Sysplex Environment.
- Experience installing Mainframe Operating Systems.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve problems impacting IT Infrastructure.
- Cross Train less senior staff members.
- Familiar with: SMP/e TSO JCL RMFMON SMF Data and general workings of z/OS parameters and exits.
- Leads the most complex planning research evaluation design and development of IT Infrastructure systems by applying engineering hardware and software design theories and principles to develop a compatible system infrastructure in line with organizational strategies.
- Responsible for leading the design development and implementation of the most complex IT Infrastructure components such as operating systems software tools and utilities.
- Leads the most complex studies of IT Infrastructure performance and traffic analysis.
- Leads the determination of the most complex systems design requirements and ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency.
- Leads the most complex generation of IT Infrastructure engineering policies standards and procedures.
- Mentors less experienced team members.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads teams in clearly defining with the customer the most complex requirements deliverables and timeframes.
- Escalates issues and make recommendations to resolve them to the appropriate audience.
- Leads the most complex root cause analysis to identify and resolve complex problems impacting IT Infrastructure.
- Leads the development and/or delivery of the most complex technical training in technical areas.
- Mentors less experienced team members in the execution of their duties.
- Leads the completion of the most complex project tasks to enable the on time within budget and scope delivery of IT Infrastructure projects.
- Assures compliance to required standards procedures guidelines and processes.
- Other duties as assigned or requested.
