This is a remote position.
Client Details:
Our client is run by various talented people located in Zambia, Namibia and South Africa. Our client is inspired by the vision where people are skilled through education and empowered by personal transformation.
Role Responsibilities:
- Investigating, designing, developing and testing specific software solutions.
- Engaging with business analysts to obtain a clear understanding of business requirements.
- Aligning with the technical and other guidance provided by the head of technology.
- Getting involved with all aspects of software design and development.
- Creating technical documentation.
- Conducting testing at various levels.
- Troubleshooting, debugging and enhancing existing software.
- Attending / contributing to company and project meetings as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
Relevant Skills / Experience:
- 10+ years' experience in a software development role.
- Experience in the following:
- Bash shell scripting
- Object-Oriented programming languages - Python preferable
- Mobile application development - Java, Kotlin, Flutter
- Back-end web development technologies and API development - Node.js, Express, Django, Ruby on Rails
- Front-end web development frameworks - Angular.js, Vue.js
- SQL and relational databases - PostgreSQL, SQLite
- NoSQL databases - Redis, Firebase, MongoDB
- Git version control
- Google APIs (Forms, Drive, Sheets, Docs, Cloud Datastore)
- Continuous Integration tools - Jenkins, GitHub Actions
- Experience in the following would be beneficial:
- Project management
- Process design
- User experience / User interface design
- Experience with Reporting tools - Qlik Sense, Qlik Nprinting
- Collaboration tools - Asana, Slack, Google Chat
- Documentation platforms - Confluence
Location / Work Type:
- Our client does offer remote work, candidates based in the Western Cape preferred.
