Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and cooking of all meals for guests and crew ensuring the highest standards of taste presentation and quality are met onboard the cruise ship
Work closely with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to develop new menu items and specials
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment following all food safety and sanitation guidelines
Train and supervise junior kitchen staff providing guidance and support as needed
Monitor and control inventory levels and food waste to maximize efficiency and minimize costs
Collaborate with other departments such as dining room and room service to ensure smooth operation and exceptional guest service
Continuously strive to improve and innovate in all aspects of the culinary operation
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role preferably in a highend restaurant or hotel
Culinary degree or equivalent training and experience
Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines
Ability to work efficiently in a fastpaced and highpressure environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Flexibility to work long hours and adapt to changing schedules
Fluent in English additional languages are a plus
Must be able to pass a preemployment medical examination and obtain necessary visas and certifications
