Datacenter Team Lead

Job Description:

Seeking a Senior Data Center Technician who can drive the local execution of standardized workflows triage unexpected anomalies and identify opportunities to scale as part of a DC Campus team. This person will work closely with the local Site Manager to mentor and grow the local team of Technicians and communicate strategy vision and feedback to the team and leadership. This technical expert is a resource for the team a driven and motivated selfstarter and able to work well with cross functional partner teams to improve processes.

Tasks

• Serve as the technical point of contact for incidents escalations and retrofits at a data center site.
• Lead a team of shift technicians to ensure healthy systems are returned to production.
• Implement global standards and workflows at the local data center level.
• Mentor and develop technicians for independent daily operations.
• Manage server upgrades integration and other projects while debugging network hardware and Linux OS issues.
• Contribute to global documentation and implement process improvements.
• Drive specifications for tooling and automation to facilitate server hardware management.
• Ensure operational excellence through metric achievement and continuous improvement.
• Perform diagnostics troubleshooting and hardware decommissioning following safety protocols.
• Communicate and escalate incidents to appropriate management.

Requirements

• Strong server hardware knowledge with at least 8 years of data center technician experience.

• Ability to work autonomously or in a team environment and lead a team.

• Experience in failure analysis fleet health tracking and realtime issue resolution.

• Proficiency in IPMI utilization software administration and OS management.

• Familiarity with network troubleshooting scripting languages (Powershell Python Bash) and virtual machine setup.

• Certifications such as CompTIA A Server CCENT CCNA MCP/MSCE preferred.

• Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 pounds climbing ladders and wearing personal protective gear.

• Must be able to stand and walk throughout a data center facility for extended periods and perform manual tasks without productivity loss.

• Candidates with strong server hardware knowledge with at least 8 years of data center technician experience.
