Overview:

To design and build the enterprise wide data strategy and data governance capabilities for ABC International Bank (ABCIB).

Deliverables of the Role:

• Data strategy and framework aligned to business needs to ensure data integrity
• Defined roles and responsibilities for data (enterprise wide)
• Policies and standards to control the quality access and usage of data
• Processes for review (and escalation) of the data control environment

What You Will Be Doing:

• Providing a clear and independent assessment of ABCIB data capability levels through capability assessment / maturity model
• Collating inputs to develop the data strategy business case and developing a strategic roadmap in collaboration with Group ABC incorporating all business areas
• Reviewing existing data processes and governance across all functions and providing recommendations to improve their effectiveness
• Supporting the design and definition of the Target Operating Model including design of processes roles & responsibilities and governance to sustain the data strategy in BAU
• Defining data policies standards and guidelines
• Assisting with data architecture review by advising on data management solutions
• Developing a data methodology and framework to enhance ABCIBs delivery capability
• Support the training of ABCIB resources in data methodologies
• Identify development opportunities to future proof the data strategy
• Contribute to internal / externalfacing discussion on data strategy and framework

Candidate Specification:

• A minimum of 5 years experience in Data Strategy Management and Governance
• A background in Financial Services (e.g. banking insurance investment management trade finance) is preferable
• Proven ability to think strategically complementing analytical and problemsolving skills
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with strong experience and comfort working autonomously and in team environments
• A strong understanding of Data Strategy and Data Management principles and one or more of several common Data Management methodologies and capability models (e.g. DAMA DMBOK DCAM CDMC) and toolsets
• Experience in facilitating maturity assessments eliciting & understanding strategic objectives pain points and requirements and providing actionable recommendations
• Experience supporting the definition of data strategies business cases and roadmaps
• Experience in documenting currentstate processes roles & responsibilities and governance structures and designing their targetstate
• Strong experience in simplifying complex concepts with excellent verbal and written communication skills including in Microsoft PowerPoint Word and Excel
• A strong understanding of the difficulties opportunities and regulations (e.g. ESG LIBOR BCBS239 CCAR GDPR Consumer Duty) facing the Financial Services industry
• Uptodate knowledge of industry bestpractices within data management
• Formal certification in data management methodologies or capability models is preferable
