Job Summary:
The Credit Associate plays a key role in supporting the credit analysis team. This position involves assisting with the evaluation of client financial information and preparing documentation to help make informed lending decisions. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of financial principles and exhibit meticulous attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Assist senior credit analysts in collecting spreading and analyzing financial statements.
- Prepare initial credit review documentation based on analysis findings.
- Conduct basic risk assessments on potential and existing credit clients.
- Maintain accurate records of financial statements and client interactions.
- Support the credit team in daily administrative tasks.
- Engage with clients to collect financial data and clarify information as needed.
- Monitor financial press and keep track of market trends that can affect risk.
- Participate in meetings with senior analysts to learn about risk assessment and financial analysis techniques.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Economics or related field.
- 12 years of experience in a financial role preferably in credit analysis or a similar function.
- Strong analytical skills and basic understanding of financial statements and ratios.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
