Courier Driver

The Role:

As a Courier Driver youll be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of important documents and parcels to clients across Johannesburg and surrounding areas. Youll navigate city streets efficiently provide exceptional customer service and ensure all deliveries are completed according to high standards.

Tasks

• Safely transport packages and documents to designated locations within specified timeframes.
• Load and unload cargo with care ensuring that all items are secure during transportation.
• Plan delivery routes efficiently to optimize time and fuel usage.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries including delivery logs signatures and any incidents that may occur.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to provide updates on delivery statuses and address any concerns.
• Perform routine vehicle maintenance and inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
• Uphold company policies and procedures including safety regulations and customer service standards.

Requirements

Valid South African Drivers License (Code 8 or Code 10 with Professional Driving Permit (PDP))

• Clean criminal background check
• Reliable and wellmaintained vehicle (car motorbike or bakkie)
• Smartphone with data and GPS capabilities (Android V6 or higher preferred)
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Strong sense of direction and ability to navigate using GPS
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Professional and courteous demeanor
• Physically fit and able to lift moderately heavy packages
• Experience as a courier driver or in a similar role
• Knowledge of Johannesburg and surrounding areas
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
