Alternative Location: Lake Charles LA

Type: 9 months contract on W2 (potential to extend into 2025)

Job Details:

As an Operations Accountant you will have ownership for capital related accounting warehouse cost accounting and other accounting activities and financial analysis supporting the Specialty Coatings and Materials (SCM) business unit. This position will be located at clients facility in Cranberry PA and will be a member of Global Business Finance Support. This position reports to the Operations Accounting Manager SCM.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly closing procedures such as calculating and submitting journal entries completing analysis and reporting on financial results.
  • Analyze and prepare account reconciliations to identify trends and ensure accuracy of the account balances.
  • Reconcile and track capital projects including supporting the plant in monitoring and forecasting spend determining capital versus expense and leading monthly capital reviews. This position will also work closely with the fixed asset team in Global Business Services to ensure proper accounting monthend related entries and analysis.
  • Organize inventory counts for warehouses and oversee the reconciliation and posting of adjustments.
  • Participate in the inventory counts for certain larger locations to assist the team.
  • Perform accounting and costing activities for SCM warehouses and tolling locations. Support in the annual costing activities for larger locations as needed.
  • Support facilitate and help resolve accounts payable issues as well as liaising with the plant teams on goods received not invoiced.
  • Support the Operations Accounting team with other activities and adhoc requests as necessary


Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in finance or accounting with a minimum of 2 years of experience
  • Outstanding PC skills and Excel knowledge pivot tables V lookup formula knowledge etc
  • Strong communication and problemsolving skills
  • Working knowledge of SAP or other large ERP system preferred
  • Willingness to travel quarterly to plant or warehouse locations Ohio and Louisiana


Our client supports flexible work arrangements for our employees. Based on the role you may have flexibility in working hours or the ability to work a hybrid work location with 3 days in office and 2 days remote if you are near to a client facility.
