Job Summary:

The Ratings Analyst is responsible for assessing the financial strength of companies and government entities and assigning a credit rating that reflects their ability to meet financial commitments. This role involves detailed financial analysis market trend evaluation and continuous monitoring of assigned sectors or entities.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze financial statements business trends and economic data to determine the financial health and creditworthiness of companies and governments.
  • Assign credit ratings based on thorough analysis and using established methodologies.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations that explain the reasoning behind the rating decisions.
  • Keep uptodate with market trends and economic developments that could impact credit ratings.
  • Work closely with senior analysts to refine rating methodologies and processes.
  • Participate in meetings with company CFOs and other executives to gather firsthand information and clarify financial details.
  • Respond to investor queries about credit ratings and methodologies.
  • Maintain high ethical standards and compliance with regulatory requirements in the rating process.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Finance Economics Accounting or related field; Masters degree preferred.
  • At least 23 years of experience in financial analysis credit analysis or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.
  • Excellent analytical quantitative and research skills.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Detailoriented with a strong commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with financial modeling tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
