About the Position:

Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will lead a team of committed team members, in the preparation and oversight of the entire financial accounting process including monthly and quarterly reporting both externally and internally. This position will be a member of our Shared Services Finance team, supporting a Texas based company. We are open to having this role based in either Richardson, TX or Saskatoon, SK.You will work to develop and execute improved processes and system capabilities that enhance real time information and reporting quality in our newly implemented ERP system. Key responsibilities:

With your excellent leadership and problem-solving skills, you will develop and support a high-performance culture through coaching, motivation, support, and strong team engagement
Manage all Accounting functions including but not limited to Financial Reporting, Month-End Closing, System and Workflow Development, General Accounting Duties and Special Projects as they present themselves
Maintain the integrity of accounting principles, internal controls, and procedures. Be instrumental in identifying and implementing best practices.
Assist the Director of Finance in the development and implementation of strategies for internal customer satisfaction.
Manage and facilitate the year-end external audits and quarterly reviews
Prepare and analyze variation in cash flows in support of Corporate requirements and manage short-term cash flow requirements.
Support the Director of Finance in preparation of the annual business plan and forecast updates.
Work alongside the project management office as a finance business partner.
Oversee tax and other legislation compliance in all reporting jurisdictions







Requirements


Desired Qualifications:

  • CPA Designation Required
  • 5+ years total with experience in a Controller or Senior Management position
  • Successful track record of system implementation and functionality enhancements considered an important asset
  • Must possess strong project planning and execution skills, as well as the ability to continually drive process improvement
  • The successful candidate will be an engaged communicator, focused and driven with a keen sense of purpose and urgency. A team-builder and motivator that inspires the team to achieve excellence
  • As the leader of the department, you must be highly collaborative and interactive with the direct reports and across multiple functions, as well as with Senior Executive team
